A message to the residents of precinct 6;
I have traveled all around the precinct with my husband a few friends during the past few weeks – we didn’t get to every neighborhood, but we met so many nice people.
I have spoken at length to some, and just a quick hello to others.
Questions and concerns this year revolve around the wide-spread misinformation about the sewer issues and the charter question.
Regarding sewers; the claim by my opponent, and the recall group that is supporting him, that I had planned to somehow support or put forward a $150,00 betterment on residents in precinct 6 is FALSE. This statement was taken out of context from a public conversation about how I do NOT support the 100% betterment policy that was created b the council when my opponent was in office.
They even used this comment, in a crude cut, in an XTK radio ad that completely misrepresents my position. My comment was that the 100% betterment policy it is ridiculous and if and when we see sewers in precinct 6, it could cost $150,00 – the point is that this is not feasible! Many of us would lose our homes! The idea of such an enormous betterment is not something I support and not something that will happen as long as I am on the council. It will be a long time before we begin discussing sewers in this part of town. The serious and priority need for sewers is in the waterfront areas. We need to work with other towns to address this problem and come up with a Cape-wide solution.
