I called the building the building department last week.
We drove by the old Tradewinds hotel and almost went off the road. What the %$&* is going on there?
How is such an ugly huge buildig get built when everyone else has to wait for your zoning regulations? I was shocked to find that the appeals committee allowed that hotel to expand like this!!! Does the city council in this town have any control over such ridiculous thing?

I think the display of ineptitude combinerd with the obvious back room
negotiations to enable a clique of Council Members to foster an agenda

Big problems with your regulatory boards!!!!

This town's love of business is reflected by the people who sit on your boards!!!
Look at the members of your ZBA!
Is there ANYONE on that board who does NOT have an investment of some sort in local developement?

Apologies if you are concerned about your comments remaining moderated. I am not going to get involved any references to those blogs.
When you are out and about in the community, very few people read them and those who do, for the most part, are aware of who they are and what they are all about, we don't need to add any more to that here.
I have held a totoal of 78 comments.

There are a couple of committees that meet during the day. We are aware that this is an issue and will be addressing this - most, if they meet during the day, will meet in the morning before work or late afternoon.
don't let this stop you, if you are interested in applying make note of the daytime difficulties during your interview.

Do you just not allow comments that give a reference to other blogs? Even if the comments aren't favorable to other blogs? I have left you at least 5 comments in the past 2 days but they don't show up. What is that all about?

There're lots of good people on town committees who don't agree with each other. That's actually a good thing.
Being appointed to (a committee) and working on the committee has led to some pretty frustrating meetings. But, it is all part of the process. In the end, it is a fufulling commitment and I'm proud of the work we do together as a committee.

People really need to get involved. We started out by taking the citizen's leadership academy. We tried to get in to a spring class, but they were full so we took the classes in the fall.

Do it!

Any resident of town can fill out an application.
If there is an open seat the applicant will be interviewed.
If said "outsider" goes through the interview process saying they don't want to work with the committee because they think the committee should be changed, then the appointments committee would consider the committee itself in its recommendation.....
Also, if someone is appointed to a committee then quits because they disagree with legal issues, then that has nothing to do with the appointments process.

Great message!
If you don't like something, it is better to work WITH the system rather than work against it! Get involved in the PROCESS!!
Sign me up! (again)
