Rt 28 and Lumbert’s Mill

It happened again – right on cue.

Seems most serious accidents in that intersection happen when someone who is coming south across Lumbert’s Mill taking a left heading east do not judge the space. Perhaps they don’t realize people are traveling at 50 MPH…..  Do they hesitate when they see the approaching traffic?

Regardless, according to the Cape Cod Times, there was yet another serious accident this morning.

The accident caused one car to roll and that car had a 3 year old in the back seat. Luckily the child was belted in safely and was not hurt. The family and the other couple are dealing with some serious issues now. A bad car accident seems to leave lasting effects and headaches beyond injuries.

Statistically, as the CC Times reported, this accident isn’t a priority for the state, as there are intersections that experiene more serious accident rates.  But — this intersection is so important to me, and to the people who live in my neighborhoods an the surrounding neighborhoods.

I invite people to send their concerns to Mass Highway – to the district 5 office:

District Five,
1000 County Street,
Taunton, MA 02780
