Saturday evening I convinced my husband to join me in attending the Art’s Foundation of Cape Cod’s exhibit “Self Portrait Cape Cod.”
The exhibit features fifty-five Cape Cod artist’s own styles and forms of self-portraits. Some are recent – some dating back many years and several showing more than one stage. Works of paints on canvas, scupltured clay and many other medias are intersperced with mirrors along the walls of the Cotuit Center for the Arts.
We left our house between football games and I promised my husband we would be able watch most of the second game. Once we go to the gallery in Cotuit and started looking at each peice it was clear we would be there for a while. We were both impressed with the concept and the variety of “expression of self,” so to speak.
This exhibit is set up to appeal to children as well as adults. The portraits are carefully set at a lower eye-level,- sort of child-eye-high. If you go and have a child handy, bring a child!
What: Self Portrait Cape Cod
Where: Cotuit Center for the Arts, 4404 Route 28, Cotuit, MA
When: January 5 – February 9

Janet- while I agree with you on many issues, I think that hauling your hubby away from the football games is in direct violation of his male human rights.
as for Art, I’m all for it… and thanks for the info… BUT please don’t give woman any more ideas about interrupting our sacred Sunday constitution.
Your hubby sounds like he cares about you and your art interest… and he would probably sacrifice much for you… BUT FOOTBALL, C’MON!
(I’m almost very serious)
