Another local blogger is proving that blog sites are an useful tool; he using his blog to provide valuable information.  Over the past week, the Barnstable Beat Blog has broken down Barnstable’s charter and section by section, and has explained and discussed each part in an easy to understand manner.

This is a terrific opportunity to consider the different sections of the charter and how each part creates a whole that is our local government.

Bookmark these posts (below) or this page (the one you are reading!) with a list of all of the posts -  Refer to them when you read a story that mentions the charter, or while our charter commission is discussing changes.  Consider that this charter was developed not too long ago and there have been changes over the years as government makes shifts with changing times.

Our charter commission will probably have many proposed changes. Read and understand how it works now, and you can follow their progress with a better understanding of the document they are working with, on your behalf.

Thank you to the author of the Barnstable Beat Blog, your hard work is appreciated!
