Effective Tuesday, December 4, 2007 (weather permitting) traffic will be shifted from the existing 2 lane section of Route 132 to the newly constructed 2 lanes of Rte 132. Driveway access to all properties along the road will be maintained from the new section of roadway.
The main impact of this traffic shift will be the elimination of all left turns into and out of Shootflying Hill Road. Right turns into and out of Shootflying Hill Road will continue to be allowed. Message signs and local detour routing signs shall be installed to assist drivers in modifying their routes and minimize traffic related issues.

Thanks for this but is this permanent?
It is a pain when these things take place.
BUT if this is what it takes to stop all of the accidents along that stretch then it is ok.

I will find the answer to this and get back to you by putting up an update on this. It might not be until tomorrow.
thanks

answer – “It is not permanant but rather for the duration of the project. Once complete
Shootflying Hill and Huckens Neck will both come into a signalized intersection
allowing for controlled left hand turns. So the unsafe situation that currently
exists at Shootflying Hill Road will be eliminated with the new design.”
