11/12/07 IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR DRINKING WATER

The Hyannis Water System supplies water to customers in Hyannis, Hyannisport and West Hyannisport. 

DRINKING WATER PROBLEM CORRECTEDBOIL ORDER LIFTED RESIDENTS AND BUSINESSES NO LONGER NEED TO BOIL WATER

 Customers of the Hyannis Water System were notified on Saturday, November 10, 2007 of a problem with out drinking water and were advised to boil their water prior to consumption. 

We are pleased to report that the problem has been corrected and that it is no longer necessary to boil water for consumption.  We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience.  

The small water storage tank was re-sampled on Sunday, November 11, 2007 as well as points along the distribution system and the test results received today (11/12/07) showed no problems.  Testing at the initial points on the distribution system, done at the same time, continue to show no contamination.  As always, you may contact the Hyannis Water System at 508-775-0063 or PO Box 326, Hyannis, MA  02601 with any comments or questions.
