the good guy deserves to win

On November 6, cast a vote for one of the good guys! Elect James Tinsley to the Barnstable Town Council.

We want to tell you about one of the Good Guys.  Several months ago, we heard that James Tinsley was interested in running for Town Council in the seat left open by outgoing councilor Gary Brown. We personally knew James from Janet’s days working at Hyannis East when his oldest daughter was a student.  James was an active parent who was hands on with his daughters back then.

He served on the school council and was along side his wife volunteering for events and in classrooms during a time when it was hard to find parents who would get involved. James has lived in precinct nine for 14 years now with his family. His oldest daughter Jenna is in college after traveling through Barnstable schools from kindergarten to graduation, and his youngest is in the middle school and, as he boasts, captain of her field hockey team.

While his opponent has been working with a group who has been campaigning with negativity against the current town government and manufacturing issues with few actual solutions, James sees the issues that are truly concerning you and your neighbors. He has heard from you about the need for improved roads, streetlights, and increased police protection. He has shared ideas with us about creating office hours in the neighborhood, and continuing the dialogue he has started with you as he in traveling door-to-door.

At a time when town politics seems to have reached a pinnacle of negativity and people are running in this race supported by special interest groups, James stands out as a good guy, with no ties to any particular group, who just wants to get involved with his town.

We ask that you will come out on Tuesday, November 6 and vote for James Tinsley.

 Sincerely,

  John and Janet Joakim
