On November 6, please vote to re-elect Jim Munafo  This election season has been one of the toughest and meanest we have seen since we have been involved in town politics.

A group of local bloggers, led by Eric Schwaab and Gary Lopez has brought discussion about issues to a new low.

The Barnstable Town Council is not perfect. We rarely all agree on one issue, but if we did, would you trust the process?  Truthfully, the majority of this council has the ability to disagree with respect, and to work together to find compromises when needed.

We have come to know Jim Munafo as an honest man of integrity. Although Janet has had her own disagreements with Jim over council issues during the past few years, we know he is a good person who works hard and is raising his family in your neighborhood, and wants to do what is best for you.

He is available to his constituents by phone and email, and always willing to sit down and talk to any constituents about any issue.

Jim’s opponent has been working hard at manufacturing issues to run on or against, and has mired himself in negativity.  Over the past few years, Schwaab has insulted accused and alienated other councilors, state legislators, local civic leaders, and town staff, and has proven that he would rather make accusations and incite anger than sit down and work on solutions. This atmosphere will not serve well for the people he wants to represent.

Jim is someone who will work with the people he disagrees with, and has proven himself always willing to find compromises and solutions. He will represent your needs. If that is something you question, simply talk to him.

Jim Munafo is one of the hardest working councilors we have known.  He is dedicated to serving you. Jim is not involved in blogging, or supported by special interest groups like his opponent; he prefers to spend his time finding solutions.

Please, come to the polls at the Barnstable Senior Center next Tuesday, November 6, and vote for Jim Munafo.

Thank You

  John and Janet Joakim
