We lost power at around 3 pm yesterday and got it back around 8am this morning. Our little area of the neighborhood was built at a time when underground utilities were an option and our builder ran the utilities underground. This usually means that when our power it out, it is a major grid issue, not just a tree on a wire.

We went out last night to check on elderly relatives. We had trouble getting to one over by Wequaquet Lake as the trees were down. But, we saw DPW trucks and workers in the midst of high winds and rains moving trees and cleaning out storm drains.

Thank you to the hard working staff at the DPW.

And, in a tragedy here in our precinct, a young family of five lost their house and pets in a fast moving fire.  Neighbors tell us of the amazing work the fire department did in the height of the strong winds to put that fire out. Thankfully none of the occupants were hurt and the fire department prevented the fire from spreading.

Thank you to the COMM fire department.

  1. We called to have a tree removed last night and they took a few hours. They were finishing it this morning and we asked about what took so long last night. They showed us what we hadn’t seen. The tree had an electrical wire underneath it that we didn’t see!
    good work!!!!!
