 This woman is not right. This woman is running for charter commission and is a close friend and supporter of Eric Schwaab, and John Julius…..…

“Is this stuff true?” asked a voice I hadn’t heard from in a few years.

“Which this is that,” I asked, ”the accusations that she makes, or the fact that she made them?”

“Did she really write this stuff about you on the Internet?”

“Yes, and the photo that she designed to go along with it was on the cover of the Cape Cod Voice.”

“You mean this woman is actually running for office in my town?”

Yes ….   And she is at it again.

As promised, I am going to share one of the ugly blogs Taryn Thoman created about me this summer, when she found a comment on my blog made by a neighbor, a short paragraph that referenced a situation between her and her neighbors that I knew nothing about.

I have never seen anything like it. I have never met this woman, and she became obsessed with tearing me to shreds via blogs and posts and comments on other blogs. She uses vulgarity, hatred, profanity; creates stories of victims of mine that never existed; and has painted me as a person that is so far from who I am.  At this point it is almost laughable. That is if there weren’t real families with real children suffering from her wrath as well.

 On more than one occasion in her vulgar story telling, this woman has crossed the line. And there are people out there who are worried that she will, one day, actually hurt someone. As a college student said to me recently, this is the kind of person we study in that psychology class who lost it and committed serious crimes.

I will start with the blog she created about me, that the Cape Cod Voice used and that opitimizes the label “hate blog.”

Notice how the comments that are posted are one right after another. She creates a blog, them posts her own comments posing as others…..

Disclaimer  — there are libelous statements in these posts. I do not know any six-year-old children, and I have never admited to harming a child because I never have. My children are college students and at this point in my life, I don’t know have any six-year-old children in my life. This woman is not right. important addendum: Originally, I was not allowing the Howells to post details about their struggles on this blog.

Now the Howells and others are posting detailed comments on this blog can be found in the pages and pages of court documents they have shared with me. Before this woman went after me, she was after her neighbors. She had a disagreement with them over something she accused another neighborhood child of doing, and it escalated in a way that is something I have never seen.

She has filed charges against them at every turn, using and abusing the court system, the police, DSS and more. The small group of neighbors that had been living their for over ten years has dealt with nightmares since she moved in a little over 2 years ago.  After all of the charges were found to be baseless, the police filed criminal harassment charges against Ms. Thoman on behalf of her neighbors.

By the time it got to the DA they decides not to prosecute because there were so many counter charges they hoped a mediator could straighten it out. That is unfortunate, as agencies that were involved had declared this harassment.

I was contacted by the Howells shortly after Thoman and her sister started making phone calls to me, threatening me. The threats came close but did not cross the line to criminal harassment, according to the DA because she did not actually threaten a crime…..

“You better watch out”  “We have a large family and we are all going to be on the cape in two weeks, you better watch out”

I sat down and looked at files and files of court papers that chronical what this family and other neighbors have been through and clearly there is something wrong with this woman who is now running for office.  I have never seen anything like this, except maybe on some daytime talks show about trailer park neighbor disputes.

She has numerous cameras positioned around her house, pointed at the Howells so that when any of the Howells four kids are out in the yard playing, they are being filmed. Yes, that is legal, because there is no audio, believe it or not.

It is too bad that the DA didn’t prosecute this. It takes a little work to go through all of the papers and reports, but when you find a statement from DSS saying that Thoman was making false allegations against their neighbors, that clearly cost them time in investigations and reports, meaning it cost all of us money and takes away from the real children in danger, it is clear where the guilt lies.

The Barnstable Police are good at what they do, and they were able to sift through it all and file the charges on behalf of the neighbors.

Turns out, this is only one of the candidates with a recorded history that has made it to court….. I wonder why we don’t read more about all of this in the newspapers…..

Taryn Thoman has now created a new blog that features the Howells. Again, look  at the time stamps on the comments she posts posing as others…. one right after the other at 2 am, at 10am, at 1pm and at 6am….. http://barnstableblogblasters.blogspot.com

    Apparently Taryn Thoman feels the need to attack myself and my family, so I would like to set the record straight. My name is Christine Howell, I am the unfortunate one to have to live next door to Charter Commission candidate Taryn Thoman. I am employed by Cape Cod Hospital as a registered nurse, for which I graduated in 2004 with honors and a 3.75 GPA. I currently hold a staff position at one hospital and do per diem at 2 other hospitals, as it pays almost twice as much to do per diem. I have been married 11 years and have 4 children ages 4-10, all of whom are involved in activities and have friends in the neighborhood as well as out. I do not post them on you tube or exploit them for my own good. I have served on the equity in 70 committee, I volunteer in my children’s school regularly. I was accused by Ms. Thoman of flashing her husband in broad day light with my children and husband present and a neighbor who saw the whole thing but didn’t see what Taryn Thoman saw-note, the police did not charge me-she did, this was one of 17 criminal charges brought against my husband and I by Ms. Taryn Thoman and her “husband” Dennis Wilcox. She claimed to have a video, I have a copy of that same video, come by, I’ll show it to you. She showed police the video and they point blank told her that nothing was on it. ANYONE can press criminal charges against somebody. However, the Barnstable Police filed criminal charges against Taryn Thoman for the criminal harassment of my family as well as operating to endanger after she drove her car at an 8 year old child in my care-the school crossing guard is a witness as well as myself and another neighbor. I never ran a neighbor (her husband) off the road, but I went to my mailbox in my car, which is technically on the wrong side of the road. Because I am on 24/7/365 video, they took the video to the BPD with their version of events (3 days after the alleged occurance) and because I couldn’t remember 4 days ago (because nothing unusual happened), I was issued a summons for operating to endanger. The DA’s office never planned on prosecuting the case and it never went further. I was born, raised and educated in Barnstable and have many friends and aquaintances. MANY people trust me with their children, as my home is always a gathering spot for neighborhood children of all ages. 9 times out of 10 if you drive by you will see kids playing outside. Dennis Wilcox is always seen at home-not working. Taryn Thoman sells rocks and overpriced jewelry that at one time she purchased from a jewlery “outlet” in S. Yarmouth. My whole neighborhood still talks to our family, but not hers. That speaks volumes. We placed an anti-Thoman sign in our yard on halloween and Ms. Thoman cannot do anything to stop it-plus we have great visibility from Ost. W. Barnstable Rd. This is why she is lashing out. We have sworn affidavits from all the witnesses to what I’ve stated above. What’s the chance of a whole neighborhood wanting NOTHING to do with Ms. Thoman and her family if she was a good and decent person. Come on, the people of our town know better than that. It’s common sense. If the whole street thinks you are crazy, maybe you are! I am more than willing to show you my documents. I will not back down. She did what she did and it’s NOT OK!

  3. This is really twisted stuff! Has anyone talked about sueing these people? Make a little money for this misery. No wonder there are four town councillors running unopposed. Who wants to do this?

  4. The money it costs to file a lawsuit is HUGE. Trust me, we have MOUNDS of evidence and it piles up daily. If I was a lawyer, I would sue Taryn Thoman and her husband in a heartbeat, but I can’t afford that. Who knows, the way she’s going there could be some type of a class action suit, it’s been done before. I will continue to exercise my rights and I refuse to let her intimidate me. I am a strong person and I can take it! NO for THOMAN!!!

  5. Something has happend to Ms. Thoman.
    She had created yet another blog about myself which also included a featured section on several of her neighbors with some pretty outrageous claims. These are private citizens who have been through so much at the hands of this woman, and one has to wonder if an attorney advised her to stop.
    Copies were made of this blog.
    Do we want this type of person making decisions about our town?

    Candidate’s trick soured kids’ treats
    November 05, 2007 6:00 AM
    I attended the Oct. 31 trick-or-treating on Main Street in Hyannis with my four children and some friends, and was appalled to see a man passing out political propaganda for a local candidate. He was including the literature with the candy at her place of business.

    This was supposed to be a children’s event, not a place to try and win votes of people there to have fun with their children. These candidates should keep campaigning where it belongs, and that should exclude children’s events.
