There is a new crop of bloggers in town.   Locals – some of whom remain anonymous out of fear that they too will be harassed by the gang that gather on Eric Schwaab and Gary Lopez’s -hate blogs, are stepping up to the plate to dilute the shark infested waters where the hate-mongers wait to attack.

There are some interesting and different perspectives that make it clear that Eric Schwaab and Gary Lopez are performing for their own shared little cheering section. Most of the people who read their blogs are doing so for reasons described by a  friend of mine as “like when you pass a terrible car accident, you know you shouldn’t look but human nature and curiosity take over,” and usually, you wish you had never looked…..

Most people who read those blogs are seeing a group with a prevalent hatred and distrust that make us uncomfortable, and give us a reason to collectively shake our heads.

Take a look the growing group of blogs with a sane perspective on the way that these hate-blogs have effected our local politics:

    3. can sanity reign in the town of barnstable??? i sure hope so. i have read things on some of the blog sites that make me wonder if there should be people put into a psych hospital or jail.there are always disagreements in politics, but this name calling stuff is like junior high(actually that is an insult to jr high kids) are these the types of people we want in leadership roles? i agree with some of mr scwaab’s ideas, but the folks that seem to be his biggest supporters make me question his thinking processes. i hope that all of our town leaders want the best for the town. i thank all that do the job,

      We don’t want to see your faces or hear your grinding voices at the meetings we watch to see our town do its businss.

      Nobody can understand what Doran says, and we all hit the mute button when Julius spews the hate and threats. Milne makes us change the channel with his self-imporant speeches.

      Get a clue guys, you are not impressing anyone but your own little group.

    5. These are all people who are a bit off. They come together watching council meetings and feed off of each other.

      What a surprise for their King that he was not welcome to represent them on camera!

      These people spend free time digging through dust, looking for dirt when the dirt they seek is deep in their own souls.

      There is a certain pity for those who spend so much time and energy on hate and anger. What a waste of time.

      When they lose they will not accept the blame themselves, they never do. They lose a court case, the judge was “connected”, their recall effort failed, there must have been threats made against people.

      What damaged them? How did they develop such dark souls?

      Will they ever have any concept of how the real world sees them?

      One has to wonder when it will end.

      Or, HOW it will end.

    8. Now, these are people who have serious issues. Serious psychological, social, and personality issues.
      Are you concerned about your family at this point?

      What a huge disappointment that our local politics has been hijacked by a group of childish and damaged misfits.

      There was a time when people gave consideration to Gary Lopez, now he is just written off as an angry old man.

      Where is the dialogue? How do issues get resolved when you lie and cheat and avoid the real problems? What is it that Schwaab expects to accomplish with all of this except drive people away?

      Where do we go from here?

    9. I am reading these blogs for the first time. I went to Eric Scwhaab’s blog when I got something in my door a while ago and read his blog.
      Eric Schwaab also gave out the CAPECOG blog when he was at a council meeting, and I saw that one too back then.
      I have to say that I do NOT understand why none of the papers are reporting about the way these people talk on the blogs. It makes me uncomfortable reading some of the things they say. If they talked like that in an office they would be fired. They want us to vote for them but they talk like drunken sailors.
      It is nice to see that there are other people that feel this is upsetting. I was beginning to wonder.

    10. There have been many of us that read this blog because there is sanity here. There are other things to talk about, but the election is coming up.
      But Ms Joakim does a good job of providing information about other things too. Most people don’t read Gary Lopezs blog anymore. He is just the crazy old king of pajamas. In the past six months he used racial slurs to describe a councilor. He went after a staff person’s polish background. He accused Ms Joakim of bribery and other crimes. He trashed the town manager, the airport manager, and every councilor but Greg Milne. He keeps starting law suits and losing. He started a recall and lost, and thinks he can do things by threatening and intimidating.
      He brags about being in the mob. Those of us who know, know that even they didn’t want him. He brags about knowing how to play the horses and how poor he is.

      Don’t waste your time on that blog with Gary Lopez.
      We all need to make sure none of these people get elected.
