Barnstable hate-bloggers taking it to a new low
After learning that several people who were planning to run against the incumbent in precinct 13 decided not to pull papers, Ron Semprini took out papers to run against Town Councilor Greg Milne, the only sitting town councilor who is clearly endorsed and supported by the Schwaab and Lopez hate-blogging “coggers,” and who is, as someone pointed out to me after watching him at the Centerville Civic Association’s candidates night, clearly enjoying that relationship.

A handful of people have asked me if this type of post is encouraging a reaction, giving Schwaab and friends something more to react to. But the majority of the responses, the most responses via email, phone and personal contact, has been encouraging. There is an election approaching and these people are using this tool to post lies and intimidate. The newspapers don’t cover it, and despite the fact that I was going to keep some of my own experiences to myself, I decided that there is a disturbing pattern here…after the election, we will all go back to ignoring schwaab and the posts they share on the Patriot’s website the way we ignore Lopez’s blog now…
There is a nasty mean streak being perpetuated in local political races by a small group of people who prefer to attack and accuse with hate-language, lies, and elaborate conspiracy stories, and are even issuing threats to those who disagree with them.
