Eric Schwaab -(that is Schwaab not Schwab) carpetbagger – ….. never had children in our schools, never served on a board or commission, nor has he ever submitted an application to do so, and only within the past few months has actually been registered to VOTE in the village of Hyannis, in the Town of Barnstable. 

His primary address is in Brighton but he has now changed that in order to run for office with the support and encouragement of Gary Lopez, John Julius, Taryn Thoman and the group of gadflies who do a lot of insulting, ranting, and raving on the local hate blogs, but have never actually sat down and talk to anyone in town government.

Schwaab changed his primary address from Brighton to Hyannis a couple of months ago after dodging the residential exemption for two years.

Because his tax bill was sent to his Hyannis address – most likely forwarded home to Brighton during what summer residents consider the off season- the assessors office didn’t catch this until after the second year’s tax bill went out.

This man claims to want to protect this tax savings measure for our residents, yet he dodged it when it meant an increase in his taxes when his house in Hyannis was actually his second home and he was a non-resident who should have been charged the additional 20%.

Did Schwaab notify the assessor’s office when he- Schwaab first found this error?

NO.

He enjoyed the benefits of the residential exemption when he didn’t even qualify.

He took money that should have benefited those of us who call this place home. (see previous post with newspaper story about this issue)

In the next couple of days I will be sharing some of the feedback and information coming at me left and right regarding precinct 3 candidate, Eric Schwaab.

The bottom line? If you are unhappy with your councilor in precinct 3, Eric Schwaab is NOT the answer! 

Coming tomorrow – Schwaab wants to reduce bus fees as a town councilor…… very interesting….

  1. Got an email from a friend today who visited Schwaab’s blog and she was very unhappy with what he writes. Futhermore she copied and pasted something that demostrates to her that the guy is a true carpetbagger.

    On his BLOG Schwaab speaks in the voice of his pug dog, Bugsy (who, according to the friend is shown in photos on the blog dressed in various outfits) – he adds comments to his posts as Bugsy.

    The comment sent within the email below responds to a newspaper article about the fact that he is not only a recent home-owner here in Barnstable, but he only registered to vote here in the past couple of months.

    In the comment, he states that his condo in Brighton remains his home office…. hmmmm a home office is an office that is included within the walls of your HOME. Does this mean he will go HOME to Brighton when he needs to work? This guy bought a summer house here 3 years ago –
    he got involved with the Gary Lopez – John Julius – hate-bloggers and he when the recall against me didn’t work, he decided to run for office, registered to vote, and pulled papers.

    It just doesn’t seem legal. It certainly isn’t ethical.

    Scwhab is making his own bed, I just hope people can read between the lines in precinct 3!!

    He actually calls his condo in Brighton his home office!! If he lives in Hyannis shouldn’t his “home office” be in his “home” in Hyannis??

    There are a lot of pugs in Hyannis, but Bugsy is from Maine. I have some baby pictures of him, if you’d like me to post them.

    I’m originally from Arlington, MA. We bought our home in Hyannis in 2004. I have a condo in Brighton which I use as a home office.

    I still work off-Cape, but the living is better down here and we’re slowly but surely spending more of our time in Hyannis.

    If I was a carpetbagger as the local press has alleged, I won’t be working this hard to volunteer my time.

    You are way to damn polite!
    This guy is a LIAR!
    He is a creepy jerk and he is traveling around my precinct LYING! He was at my house and I smiled but told him NO sign.
    I have no use for your fellow Council member Munafo who won’t even vote to approve the school budgets.
    Thank goodness we have Mike Hersy!

    I know him from when we were kids, he was younger than me but he is a really good, honest, guy. He has kids in school and he is already on a town board, showing that he does give a S$%* about this town!!!
    SCHWAAB WAS PUT UP BY GARY LOPEZ AND JOHN JULIUS AND ALL THE MYSTERY PEOPLE WHO CALL THEMSELVES THE COGS!!!

    PLEASE THINK ABOUT THIS!

    Lopez ran for town council and made a fool of himself and had to leave town.

    Julius and Lopez grabbed an unsuspecting fool, used him as a tool to run a recall to try to get you out and THAT BLEW UP IN THEIR FACES!!

    Lopez and Julius got some unsuspecting fools to pay for a lawsuit against the town that went down the tubes!

    Julius and Lopez gathered “evidence” to show that the town had too many lawyers on staff and in the end they were counting the councilors who have law degrees, and any staff member who happend to have a law degree even if their jobs are not attorneys.

    NOW THEY HAVE PUT SCHWAAB UP TO RUN!!!!
    What a JOKE!!

    I do NOT understand how the town clerk can allow a person like this to run for office! He stole money from the town, from you and me and everyone who pays taxes by not telling the asessors office that his mail was forwarded from his hyannis address to his REAL address in Brighton!! HE DID IT FOR TWO YEARS!!

    I will do my best to get the other guys in! If he wins tuesday, I am sure hoping we can tell the rest of the information we have about him.

    I might start my own blog because sometimes you are just too damn polite!!!!!!

    I understand you are upset and appreciate your intense anger, but I can’t allow profanity. I think I actually set the spam settings to catch profanity.

    Thanks, though- your passion shows and I hope you can share it all with your neighbors.

    Let’s have faith that this guy will fail and that most of those he thinks will support him are simply giving him the “thanks but no thanks” smile.
