WE NEED YOUR HELP!

“Operation Clean Sweep”

Nye Road and Lumberts Pond

It’s time to take back the open space and wooded areas in our neighborhood!

The Town of Barnstable Police Department, Natural Resource Division and the Department of Public Works is looking to address our neighborhood concerns by working with us to get the areas at the End of Nye Road behind McBarron Park and the Conservation Area near the power lines off of Nye Rd., that includes pathways around Lumberts Pond, cleaned up of debris. The area has been used for dumping and partying for years and recently suffered a brush fire that sparked from a bon-fire. It it is time for us to clean it up and take it back.

Operation Clean Sweep —  Friday, August 17th, 2007 – 9am — Meet at the North Precinct and Nye intersection –Anyone can help! Adults and kids! Tell your friends and neighbors!

The Town will provide heavy lifting, assistance, will take all the debris away and will assist us in getting these areas cleaned. Clean-up will be followed by a meeting with town staff and officials to help us find solutions to the issues that have created this problem over the years.
