Where were they? They would prefer to throw rotten tomatoes and run…

Earlier this evening, the town manager held a public hearing seeking public input regarding water rates for Hyannis and environs.  “john julius” today, team 300
Wait! Stop! Don't waist a good piece of fruit! Don't play with your food!I have been sent copies of  Cogslogging Blog rants and lots of yipping from little dogs about the supposed corrupt conspiratory plans to double, triple, quadruple and more the water rates. The opportunity to discuss this publicly, with the Hyannis water board present, was ignored by these guys.

They prefer to sit at computers and rant and rave about corruption rather than give civil input in the process.

Similarly, when the council approved the purchase of the water company, we had numerous workshops and public hearings in the weeks before the purchase became an agenda item.

And these same guys were no where to be found.

Screaming and yelling and pointing gets you no where! They showed up at the end of the process, after the workshops and presentations. One showed up after the purchase was put on an agenda and had been read and discussed at successive council meetings. On the last evening before we were to vote one local real estate agent showed up and accused us of not doing research!  He was waving the agenda at us, as the table of attorneys and engineering consultants who had been available at several public meetings up to that point looked on.  The puzzeled look on the faces of the men at that table said it all, they had been there answering questions through the entire process and this guy showed up at the last minute accusing all of us of pushing something through from secret meetings behind closed doors….

I know for a fact that one councilor reached out to John Julius, in public, and tried to arrange a meeting with him to share with him all of the information we had been given by specialized attorneys and consultants leading up to the water company purchase.  The councilor was unsuccessful. Mr. Julius wasn’t interested, he preferred to throw rotten tomatoes and run.

Now that the public discussion regarding the capital plan for the water company, and hearings about the water rates have taken place, will they say the process was done behind closed doors? Will they critisize decisions and continue to insist their is corruption in the process?

Why won’t they take an active role in the process?  Rather than scream and yell and accuse, participate. The opportunities are there.

angry ol king o pjsThat means you old king, time to get dressed and leave those pajamas behind. Come outside, the weather is fine!

  1. This gang just wants to complain, usually after the fact. They have done nothing productive for our community. What a waste. Keep up the good work!

  2. LOL- the yippie little dog probably couldn’t catch a ride from the city, and the king of pajamas just can’t seem to find any “going outside the house” clothes that fit.

Why should they do anything on the record? They have nothing to say.
